Heppner Schools Snow Day Make Up Days:

  • Heppner schools will make up three of the missed student contact days due to inclement weather closures.
  • April 7, 14, and 28 are now designated as “Snow/Inclement Weather” make-up days for Heppner Schools.

FFA News

The April Heppner FFA Chapter Meeting and Officer Election will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m.  All officer candidates should be in OD and have their speech ready!  For any questions or details ask a current officer.

Parents & supporters of Heppner FFA are invited to a meeting on Wednesday, April 26, as well in the Ag Room, which will cover a few upcoming events and make plans for helping with the FFA banquet.

The Heppner FFA Banquet date has changed to Wednesday, May 24, at the Morrow County Fairgrounds Annex Building. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., program will start at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.  Please make note in your calendar! The whole community is invited & encouraged to attend!

Shop Skills & Tractor Driving Contest is this Thursday. Please dress in appropriate clothing for your contest area - no OD J. The bus will be leaving HHS at 6:45 a.m. and return around 4 p.m.

9-12 Fun Night Tomorrow Night!

The ASB Executive Officer Team will be hosting a 9-12th grade “Fun Night” featuring games and a movie this tomorrow evening from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. 

ASB Officer Election Timeline

May 1 - ASB Officer Election Petitions for the 2017/18 school year are available from Mrs. Payne, May 10 - completed Petitions are due to Mrs. Payne by 3:30 p.m., May 11 – candidate meeting at 11:50 a.m. in Mrs. Payne’s room, May 15-18 - campaign week, May 22 - campaign speeches, May 23 - voting during Activity Period.

Boys Basketball Meeting – April 24

There will be a boys’ basketball meeting for next school year players in grades 8-11, on Monday, April 24, during lunch, in Mr. Rosenbalm’s Room.

Prom Guest Passes

The HHS Prom, “A Night In The Lost City of Atlantis”, will be held on May 6, at the Morrow County Fairgrounds Building, from 9;00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.  If you are bringing an out of town guest to Prom you must have a Dance Guest Pass Form turned in the office by April 27.  The forms are available in the holder outside the office.

Senior Yearbook Information

Senior yearbook photos are due to Mr. Rosenbalm by May 4.  Senior parents have the option of adding a parent quote by the senior photo in the yearbook.  The cost of the quotes is $10.  All quotes are due to Mr. Rosenbalm by May 17.  Parents may also send the photos and quotes to the office to be forwarded to Mr. Rosenbalm. 

MCHD

A nurse from the Morrow County Health Department will be at HHS on Wednesday mornings for the remainder of the year. 

Drama Practice

HHS Drama presents “It’s A Wonderful Life” on May 15th & 16th at 7:00 p.m.  Admission is $3.00.

Senior Information

All seniors that have taken AG classes may be eligible for dual credit at BMCC. Today is the last day to bring your transcript to Mrs. D and get you enrolled in your classes for credit.  You will need your BMCC ID number. Remember some classes are stand alone, like Plant Science and others need multiple classes or activities for the credit. Please see Mrs. Dickenson today!

The Mother Daughter Tea, sponsored by the Heppner Elks, for senior girls and their mothers or a guest will be held on May 22 at 11:30 a.m.

There are extra graduation announcements from Jostens available in the office for $1.10 each.

Drivers Ed - Hermiston High School

Youth Conservation Corps U.S. Forest Service Applications Available

The Umatilla National Forest, Heppner Ranger District, is recruiting four YCC enrollees for an eight-week period of employment in field-going activities from June 19, 2017 through August 11, 2017.  Young men and women ages 15 through 18, are eligible for employment.  Applications are available in the holder outside the office.  Applications must be received by the Heppner Ranger District by 2:00 p.m. on April 14, 2017.

Wildland Fire Suppression

ODF John Day Unit will be hiring for wildland fire suppression from June - October. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.  Information is available in the holder by the office.
