Per guidance from the Oregon Department of Education (ODE), current Class of 2020 seniors will be issued credit with a Pass for Semester 2 for courses that the student had earned a D or better at the end of Quarter 3. Students will receive an Incomplete for courses that had a failing grade at the end of Quarter 3. Seniors will have the opportunity to earn a Pass for Semester 2 and earn credit for those Incomplete courses by continuing work through the Distance Learning platform with their current teachers. Students that were working on credit recovery will be contacted by their building administrator or counselor to work on a plan to recover that credit and review what will need to be completed to meet the graduation requirements.
Seniors enrolled in college credit courses will need to continue those courses through the Distance Learning platform to earn the college credit.
ODE has also removed the requirement for Essential Skills (SBAC/Work Samples) and the Career Credit (Senior Portfolio Presentation) for the class of 2020.
For more information please use this link to the Graduation Pathways 2020 Guide from ODE: Graduation Pathways 2020.
All seniors will be contacted by their building administrator or counselor to confirm that they have met their graduation requirements, or to develop a plan to meet those requirements through the Distance Learning platform.
Each high school will also be working with their class of 2020 to help determine a celebration to honor the graduating seniors. Please keep in mind that the schools will need to follow all health and safety guidelines set forth by Governor Brown, including gathering limitations and social distancing guidelines.
